Kamwo Herbs has been serving the Traditional Chinese Medicine Community since 1973, we are the oldest herbal pharmacy on the East Coast. Kamwo Herbal Pharmacy is owned and operated by TCM family (spanning four generations) that is devoted to Chinese Medicine. Raw Herbs Testing
At Kamwo, providing high quality herbs is our top priority. That is why, as an added safety measure, Kamwo employs CMA Testing, an independent, internationally accredited (HOKLAS certified) laboratory to test our herbs for heavy metals such as Arsenic, Lead, Mercury, and Cadmium, as well as pesticide residues such as DDT, and Hexochlorobenzene (HCB) related compounds. In addition to meeting international standards, HOKLAS certification is recognized by 34 international accrediting bodies, including the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA). Through voluntary testing, we are helping to raise the industry standard, and ensuring that patients receive only the finest quality herbs.
Granular Quality and Testing Standards
New Meridian Granules are manufactured by TianJiang Pharmaceuticals in China. It is an internationally certified GMP granular manufacturing facility. All raw materials are carefully selected and laboratory tested employing the latest version of HPLC (High Performance Liquid Chromatography) to verified all herb identification standardization. Further, TianJiang has one of the newest manufacturing facilities in China or Taiwan, employing the latest technology and testing standards that is so important in granule manufacturing process. Each New Meridian Granule is tested for heavy metals such as: Lead, Cadmium, Mercury and Arsenic. Further, microbial testing is done to ensure that harmful bacterias such as Salmonella and E. Coli are not present. New Meridian Granules are also tested for pesticides such as Organochlorine Pesticides using only the most stringent certified testing techniques. All testing standards exceeds the required standards of China, Taiwan, and the United States USP for heavy metals. New Meridian recognizes the utmost importance of quality and safety.

Vacuum Packs: BPA-Free and FDA Approved
In keeping with our commitment to safety and quality, we have confirmed through third party independent US laboratory testing that our vacuum packs pouches have always been and continue to be completely BPA-free.In addition, our vacuum pack pouches and our vacuum pack filling facility were recently approved by the FDA.The BPA testing was performed at the National Food Laboratories in California.To view a copy of the lab report click on the image below.
Lately, Bisphenol A (BPA) has received a great deal of press attention.Low-dose long-term exposure to the chemical is thought to be toxic to humans.A number of countries and concerned scientist groups have already categorized Bisphenol A as hazardous to humans.BPA is found in polycarbonate plastics—including some baby bottles and water bottles.Many manufacturers of the aforementioned goods are now producing BPA-free products in response to concerns about the chemical.
