The Technology

Vacuum packing technology has been utilized by Chinese and South Korean TCM facilities for many years. Herbal formulas are put together the same way as a regular raw formula. It is then cooked in a stainless steel pressure cooker at 112 °C using filtered water. After it is prepared, the tea is piped through filters entering into a vacuum packing chamber for packing. Teas are packed at high temperature, in the absence of air.

Vacuum packing allows the packing of prepared herbal teas to be preserved for an extended period of time without the use of preservatives or chemicals. When kept at room temperature, they can be preserved for thirty (30) days. When kept in a refrigerator, they can be preserved up to sixty (60) days. (Avoid storing in extreme temperatures; refrigerate if temperature exceeds 75 °F).

Administration

Warm tea by immersing vacuum pack in hot or warm water (as you would a baby bottle). Wait 3-5 minutes. Cut corner of bag and pour into cup to serve. Drink only the contents of the packet. No reconstituting necessary.

Caution: Do not use if seal has been broken and vacuum has been lost.

Depending on the size of the order, vacuum packing costs as little as an additional $.50 to $1.00 per pack of raw herbs. The equipment requires a minimum of five (5) packs raw herbs for cooking, with each pack typically producing two (2) vacuum packs.
